Talk: News(letter) is the shit: Politics for Gen Z
"Traditional news sources are primarily written by and geared toward an older demographic, and unfortunately, the don't always connect to my generation." 15-year old Olivia Seltzer gets up every morning at 5 am, summarizes international news for her peers and sends a newsletter to over 100 countries. Sham Jaff, a young German political scientist, does something similarly: Her weekly newsletter covers the sometimes convoluted world affairs in a precise, yet approachable language. Both women have something in common that gives them a head start over big news corporations: they speak the language of their audience.
